THE VISION

THE CHALLENGE

Traditional testing slowed them down and left blind spots everywhere

When one of the business units at a leading multinational semiconductor company began exploring AI-driven solutions, they were facing the classic QA challenges. Their process was as follows:

The development team documents the requirements. A testing team member then analyzes these requirements, and turns them into test cases. These test cases are then executed manually or a selection is automated using Katalon Studio.

While this process may seem standardized, there were multiple gaps.

"It's a boring job," admits the test architect. "Documenting the test cases, executing them, we wanted some kind of transformation in the testing areas through AI and machine learning."

The fundamental issue extended beyond boredom. The multi-stage process created gaps at every phase. Requirements were sometimes incomplete. Test cases might have overlooked key scenarios. Neither fully captured how end users actually interacted with applications. Testing was always performed, but complete coverage was never achieved.

The Solution

Bringing innovation to testing

The QA team had started researching how AI could improve their QA process, something that added practical value and not as a buzzword. That’s when they found TrueTest.

What caught their attention was TrueTest's unique approach: instead of building test cases from requirements, it converts manual test executions in staging or testing environments into ready-to-use automated regression tests without any scripting required.

"When I was trying to do some research on how we can make a difference, how I can bring innovation to the table as part of the test strategy and initiatives, that's when I discovered TrueTest", the test architect recalls.

One click. That's all it took to create test cases and automation scripts

TrueTest offered something fundamentally different: a way to capture the actual user experience and turn that into comprehensive testing.

"It's a different perspective," explains the architect. "You capture how users actually use the application. You don't need requirement traceability metrics because you're directly recording end user behavior."

The team captured over 50 critical business flows repetitively, with more than 25 unique flows including search, checkout, and payment processes.

Within just two months of implementation, the team has consistently generated working test scripts at scale, building strong confidence in TrueTest's capabilities.

The Results

Now tests reflect how users really use the application

With TrueTest in place, the team noticed an immediate shift. Now, they could:

  • Auto-generate manual test cases and automation scripts.
  • Perform gap analysis between what they thought users were doing vs. what users were actually doing.
  • Improve coverage across real-world use cases.

TrueTest is a tool that captures how end users actually use your application, then generates manual test cases and automated scripts. The main value isn't just script generation but understanding the exact end user experience and generating flows based on that, which helps identify gaps between your test coverage and how users actually interact with your application.

The biggest “wow moment” was the effort. Or rather, the lack of it.

Writing test cases used to eat up time. Now, that whole process is automated. The team has experienced an 80% reduction in effort on generated scenarios, with clear potential for further ROI as they scale the solution across additional business units.

Yes, the generated automated scripts still need a little polish, about 20-25% maintenance, but the upfront lift is massively reduced. The team reported saving 30-40% of their time compared to traditional test automation tools.

And it’s not just time saved. It’s insight gained. They’re no longer guessing. They're testing against real user behavior. That changes everything.

Looking ahead: A new way of thinking about quality

"Business users are domain experts, they know exactly where to go and what to use," notes the test architect. "With TrueTest, we see those patterns and understand how our applications function in the real world."

For them, it’s a shift from reactive testing to real-time, user-first testing.
