Read through our Editorial Guidelines to ensure that you understand our quality standard.
Here is a friendlier way to say this: Submit your proposal and await our acceptance before creating any content, as we do not accept pre-written blogs. Once your post is published on our blog, we ask that it remains exclusive to Katalon.
If your proposal is approved, we will send you an email in which we will include a link to a Google Docs.
This is where you will add your content. All further edits will be made in the same Google Docs.

Katalon blog content standards

Guest articles submitted to Katalon must be originally created content. While we encourage the use of AI, purely AI-generated content and plagiarism will not be tolerated.
Guest articles should be comprehensive, well-researched, and data-driven. The end goal of these articles should be to educate the readers on a specific topic in the world of software testing, software development, or QA.
Guest articles should maintain a neutral, non-promotional tone. Please refrain from using first-person pronouns (“I”, “me”, “my”), and focus on the reader’s experience using “you/your”.
We do not accept product pitches and promotional content.

Blog formatting standards

Once your idea is accepted, you need to provide us with an outline before you start writing.

📌 Other formatting tips to increase your chance of acceptance:

Make sure that your content follow a hierarchical format. Organize your thoughts with appropriate headers (H2, H3, H4).
Headers should be written in sentence case.
Acronyms should be spelled out the first time they appear and subsequently referred to by their initials.
Keep your paragraphs short and concise with a maximum of 5 lines per paragraph.
Add bullet lists whenever necessary to simplify the reading experience.
Numbered lists should be formatted as number + period.
Always include an introduction and conclusion in your articles.
Ensure that your article is free from grammar and spelling errors.

Linking requirements

Katalon allows for up to 1 do-follow link on your article. These links should lead to one of your own articles. Do-follow links indicate that Katalon trusts these links, which can boost the linked page's ranking on Google, so make sure to use do-follow links for the pages you want to optimize.

📌 Our request:

This do-follow link should lead to educational and informative articles that do not discuss tools or products, include gated guides, or mention your brand extensively. You can link to a personal/company LinkedIn profile in the author bio.
Please refrain from linking to software lists, product pages, service pages, demo pages, home pages, and landing pages. Ensure the links are inserted naturally within the text to maintain a seamless reading experience.
Ensure that your links are unique and not competitive on the same topic. For instance, if you're writing about software testing and have a similar blog on your site, please refrain from using a link with the same keyword.

Visual requirements

Katalon reserves the right to select cover images for articles. Please refrain from submitting a cover image/banner.

If you decide to incorporate images in the content:

✅ Do:
- Consider incorporating infographics, graphs, charts to enhance your content and illustrate key points.
- Ensure that images used in the content is of high-quality. Any low-quality images that affect reading experience will be removed.
- Opt for unique and original visuals. Credit any source if you use images from the web.
- Stock photos must comply with Community Standards.
