Katalon Product Roundup – October 2025
Learn with AI
October brings focused AI-native upgrades across Studio 10.4.0, TestCloud, and TestOps. Studio adds Agent-mode MCP, AWS Bedrock, AI failure analysis, automated code migration, and API auth inheritance. TestCloud delivers live device takeover, KRE session control, CLI heap sizing, private site testing, and richer Image Injection. TestOps adds an MCP server for LLM-driven management and a unified, real-time schedule console.
StudioAssist agent mode with HTTP MCP support
Katalon now supports HTTP-based MCP servers with authentication and ships 13 new Studio MCP tools for creating and maintaining end-to-end tests. The TestOps MCP server is also pre-added to connect Studio to your Katalon platform data.
Why it matters: Cuts context switching between requirements, test design, and defect creation while keeping work inside Studio.
What’s new
- Connect to HTTP MCP servers.
- Use new tools to get, create, and update Test Suites, Test Suite Collections, and Dynamic Test Suites.
- Edit custom keywords, create and manage BDD feature files, list and generate test data.
Automated code migration (Beta)
Automatically update Katalon Studio projects when moving from older to newer versions, including changes like Java 8 to 17 and Selenium 3 to 4, with a simple option to undo. It handles breaking changes across BDD scripts, Selenium, and Cucumber updates, and dependency shifts too.
Why it matters: Reduces upgrade effort and support cases. Katalon is offering automated version-to-version code migration, where others provide only documentation.
Capabilities
- Apply guided recipes for API and library changes, such as Java 8 to 17 and Selenium 3 to 4.
- Batch refactor BDD scripts and dependencies.
- Revert safely when needed.
MCP Server for LLM workflows
Operate on TestOps objects (Test Cases, Test Suites, Requirements, Sprints, Releases) directly from your LLM via Model Context Protocol.
Why it matters: Speeds test management with conversational, automation-friendly actions.
Supports
- Test Case/Suite: search, get detail, create, update, move, duplicate, delete
- Requirements: search/get, link/unlink to Test Cases
- Sprints & releases: search
- Project: search

AWS Bedrock integration
StudioAssist now supports AWS Bedrock alongside OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, Gemini, unlocking Amazon foundation models under your org’s AWS IAM, billing, and governance.
Why it matters: Meets enterprise compliance needs, avoids vendor lock-in, and consolidates AI spend under AWS.
Highlights
- App-level Bedrock configuration.
- Works with existing enterprise security baselines and cost controls.
- Ideal for AWS-centric and regulated teams.
AI Test Case failure analysis
StudioAssist automatically analyzes stack traces and summarizes why tests failed at the test case/suite level, embedded in HTML and email reports.
Why it matters: Eliminates manual log dives and makes failure insights accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
Highlights
- Plain-language failure reasons and patterns.
- Report-ready explanations for fast triage and communication.
- Added to StudioAssist prompt library for custom analysis.
Inherit authorization from the parent
Define auth once at the new API Collection (or folder) level and inherit to child requests with per-request overrides.
Why it matters: Centralized credentials, less repetition, fewer misconfigurations.
Supports
- API Key, Bearer, Basic, OAuth 2.0, and more.
- Environment-based management (dev/stage/prod).
Schedule management
A unified schedule management experience with smart sorting, filtering, bulk actions, and deep configuration, plus live status and rich run history.
Why it matters: Gives QE leads operational control and observability at scale.
Highlights
- List view: Name, linked artifacts, human-readable recurrence, last/next run, live status, run now.
- Smart sorting: Soonest next run first; stable tie-breaks; inactive to bottom.
- Filtering: Status, next-run date range, keywords (AND logic); persistent sort state
- Bulk actions: Activate/Deactivate/Delete across many schedules.
- Config view: Edit triggers, test selection, profiles/configs, run modes, repo; preview rules with validation.
- History: Full, sortable, filterable run log with progress indicators; re-import/delete; results summary inline; real-time updates.
Live interaction on mobile devices
Instantly take manual control of a real device during a running automated mobile test from the Monitoring view in cloud.katalon.com. Investigate failures or handle unexpected steps in real time without aborting the run.
Use cases
- Enter one-time passcodes during login flows.
- Dismiss or interact with pop-ups.
- Prevent failures caused by transient app/system interruptions.
Supported actions
- Keyboard: a–z, 0–9, special chars, Caps Lock, Delete, Shift+char, Space, Enter, Tab
- Gestures: Swipe (all), Drag & Drop, Tap, Double Tap, Tap & Hold
- Clipboard: Copy & Paste (within device)
- Navigation: Arrow keys, Shift+Arrow keys
KRE sessions monitoring & termination
Admins can now monitor and terminate all KRE sessions across the account, providing a dependable way to free licenses even when releaseLicense is unreliable.
Where to find it
- Location: Account Settings > System Configuration > TestCloud > KRE sessions.
- Roles: Account Admin, System Admin
Why it matters
- Ensures licenses are released correctly
- Improves control over shared execution environments

Image injection
The Image Injection feature now accepts relativePath, absolutePath, and fileName values, giving teams more flexibility when referencing assets. A new TestCloud keyword plugin with this support is available in the Katalon Store.
- Works seamlessly with the Mobile Recorder’s Image Injection action and the Mobile.injectImage keyword.
