Web Recorder Plus (Beta)

Introducing Recorder Plus (Beta), a smarter and more powerful way to automate web testing in Katalon Studio.

For highly secure environments that restrict unpacked extensions, Recorder Plus leverages the “Katalon Studio Recording Engine” extension, simplifying setup compared to Katalon Compact Utility. Just install the extension and enable Web Recorder Plus—no need to configure desired capabilities.

Additional enhancements include improved handling of complex shadow DOMs, iframes, and modern web technologies like Flutter-based apps and Canvas text. Recorder Plus makes test creation more reliable and effortless with enhanced element detection, smarter CSS locator generation, and support for key actions such as hover detection and tab switching.

New Email Reports with Expanded Insights

Katalon Studio’s new email reports provide deeper test insights with added details like skipped and incomplete test counts and a detailed test case result table.

Enhancements include data binding in reports, precise browser version logging, and improved TestOps integration with faster asset uploads. A new option to link reference images reduces report size, while debug mode now supports HTML, PDF, and CSV reports. Default UTF-8 encoding ensures better character support, and TestCloud reports now show actual devices used. These updates offer clearer, more efficient reporting for better test management.

Live Testing on Mobile Apps with TestCloud

TestCloud’s Live testing on mobile app enables real-time manual testing on actual iOS and Android devices.
