Katalon Product Roundup May 2025

Product Marketing Updated on

May’s release brings significant strides in browser support, cross-platform test execution, and intelligent AI-powered enhancements. Whether you’re running large-scale cloud tests, fine-tuning user journey maps, or adapting to Chrome’s latest changes, Katalon continues to innovate with features that boost precision, observability, and test coverage.

Here is what we delivered in May:

Environment-specific user journey mapping

Now you can track and generate separate user journey maps per environment (Production, QA, or Staging) to improve visibility and test relevance.

  • Segregates data collected under a single AUT by environment.
  • Enables independent journey analysis and test creation for each deployment stage.
  • Enhances test accuracy and context per environment.

Live test execution monitoring and video streaming

Gain real-time visibility into your running tests with live video monitoring, helping teams catch UI glitches or execution failures instantly.

  • Watch test executions live.
  • Review post-run logs.
  • Support executions triggered from both Katalon Studio and TestOps.

Custom page node labels in user journey maps

Make your user journey maps easier to understand by assigning clear, intuitive names to page nodes.

  • Replaces raw URL segments with meaningful labels (e.g., “/checkout/payment-method” to “Payment Info”).
  • Improves readability for testers and stakeholders.
  • Enhances collaboration and communication by aligning maps with real-world workflows.

Editable flow summary & description

Before generating test cases, you can now manually update flow summaries and descriptions.

  • Overrides AI-generated content for better clarity and alignment with testing goals.
  • Helps QA teams document flow intent more clearly for review and collaboration.

KRE version tagging for TestCloud

Fine-tune your test scheduling with more control over Katalon Runtime Engine (KRE) versions.

  • New tags in the schedule dialog:
    • Latest: points to the newest compatible version of KRE.
    • Latest 9.x: currently KRE 9.7.5.
    • Latest 10.x: currently KRE 10.2.1 (new default for schedules).

Chrome 137 Support

Katalon Studio now fully supports Chrome version 137, ensuring seamless test recording and execution despite recent changes in Chrome’s automation protocols.
