October brings focused AI-native upgrades across Studio 10.4.0, TestCloud, and TestOps. Studio adds Agent-mode MCP, AWS Bedrock, AI failure analysis, automated code migration, and API auth inheritance. TestCloud delivers live device takeover, KRE session control, CLI heap sizing, private site testing, and richer Image Injection. TestOps adds an MCP server for LLM-driven management and a unified, real-time schedule console.
Katalon now supports HTTP-based MCP servers with authentication and ships 13 new Studio MCP tools for creating and maintaining end-to-end tests. The TestOps MCP server is also pre-added to connect Studio to your Katalon platform data.
Why it matters: Cuts context switching between requirements, test design, and defect creation while keeping work inside Studio.
What’s new
Automatically update Katalon Studio projects when moving from older to newer versions, including changes like Java 8 to 17 and Selenium 3 to 4, with a simple option to undo. It handles breaking changes across BDD scripts, Selenium, and Cucumber updates, and dependency shifts too.
Why it matters: Reduces upgrade effort and support cases. Katalon is offering automated version-to-version code migration, where others provide only documentation.
Capabilities
Operate on TestOps objects (Test Cases, Test Suites, Requirements, Sprints, Releases) directly from your LLM via Model Context Protocol.
Why it matters: Speeds test management with conversational, automation-friendly actions.

StudioAssist now supports AWS Bedrock alongside OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, Gemini, unlocking Amazon foundation models under your org’s AWS IAM, billing, and governance.
Why it matters: Meets enterprise compliance needs, avoids vendor lock-in, and consolidates AI spend under AWS.
Highlights
StudioAssist automatically analyzes stack traces and summarizes why tests failed at the test case/suite level, embedded in HTML and email reports.
Why it matters: Eliminates manual log dives and makes failure insights accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
Highlights
Define auth once at the new API Collection (or folder) level and inherit to child requests with per-request overrides.
Why it matters: Centralized credentials, less repetition, fewer misconfigurations.
Supports
A unified schedule management experience with smart sorting, filtering, bulk actions, and deep configuration, plus live status and rich run history.
Why it matters: Gives QE leads operational control and observability at scale.
Highlights
Instantly take manual control of a real device during a running automated mobile test from the Monitoring view in cloud.katalon.com. Investigate failures or handle unexpected steps in real time without aborting the run.
Use cases
Supported actions
Admins can now monitor and terminate all KRE sessions across the account, providing a dependable way to free licenses even when releaseLicense is unreliable.
Where to find it
Why it matters
The Image Injection feature now accepts relativePath, absolutePath, and fileName values, giving teams more flexibility when referencing assets. A new TestCloud keyword plugin with this support is available in the Katalon Store.
