Besides being known for the cool nickname Agent K, many of us may also see Khang Dang - our Product Support Specialist as the leader of Katminton (Katalon Badminton Club), and an active member of Cyco-K (Katalon Cycling Club) and KFC (Katalon Football Club). The enthusiastic Katalian’s story brings positive energy by unveiling his motivation and work-life balance philosophy.

 Q. Your regular day at Katalon? And from what aspect do you find joy in your work, as a Product Support Specialist?

Khang: I’m here to assist users, namely Katalon’s customers when they utilize our products. Especially with enterprise users, whenever they encounter any issues or have any technical queries, I will investigate, support them in those matters and work with the Product Team if needed to offer suitable solutions.

The joys of my work come from meeting and supporting customers from different parts of the world who have different personalities and issues but share the same purpose of delivering quality products.

Q. Any memorable stories you have encountered during your work here?

Khang: There are tons of them. Just as similar to any job that requires direct communication with the customers, each of them is different so, of course, there are exciting experiences and vice versa. Recalling the enjoyable working experience with one of our frequent customers, I feel like the hard work and effort paid off when I receive such warm messages of appreciation from them. From my perspective, I don't want to address the issue and close the case simply. My way of working is that I always ask the question why and put myself into their shoes to understand the root of their needs and their problem. Don't treat the problem based on assumption, as well as don’t apply the exact same formula for every case.

Q. Being considered a team member who often thrives on initiatives, what is your motivation?

Khang: I'm the type of person who doesn’t like any kind of repetition. I enjoy exploring new things, not only at work but also in life. During my working process, my mind always thinks about ways to shorten the time spent, and make it more effective and more convenient, which are the two aspects that I prioritize to improve my work.

Q. If not "Agent K" at Katalon - specializing in Product support, how would you introduce yourself?

Khang: Maybe a pacemaker who always wants to connect with everyone around him and be super active in sports. Sport is my passion. I can play so many of them (running, soccer, badminton, boxing, cycling, etc).

Q. Many of your interesting hobbies are not only about enjoying yourself but also bringing certain values to the community, such as being a social activist, isn't it an ideal image that you want to become?

Khang: Yes. What I am aiming for is to become someone who brings value and positivity to the lives of those around me. To me, living is all about giving. I want to help and support others as much as I can, not just in social activities, but could be in anything: mentality, health-being, etc.

Q. With the busy peculiarity of the Product Support Specialist, how can you maintain such a healthy and balanced work-life

Khang: My way of balancing things out is to actively take control. For instance, with the characteristic of late calls with customers, I will try to arrange the most suitable schedule based on the level of urgency without interfering too much with my personal time. More than just the hours of working, I engage myself in many activities (sports as I said) to wind down and get some moments of “escape". They are so-called my hobbies, but as something, I can join with my colleagues after work too. You may know I am the leader of Katminton. I join our soccer, and cycling clubs as well. Even though I am not the leader of those clubs, I am known for my active participation and club operations too haha. Because I simply find joy there. This is what I consider a ‘getaway' from the hectic work.

Q. Your life motto or inspiration in life?

Khang: My favorite life motto is “You can lose in actions but do not lose in thoughts". If you are afraid or skeptical of any obstacles, you will never know what is waiting for you in the end. Dare to try and step forward regardless of knowing what will happen. It doesn’t mean you should take risks at all costs. But don't ever let things that frighten you hold you back from pursuing your desired path so that you won't lose any opportunities awaiting. Face the fear and live a bold life.
